The meeting of the Mediators’ New Breakfast Club on 22 May was addressed by Katie Bradford, the Head of Property & Finance Litigation at Linklaters LLP and the Founder and Chair of the Commercial Mediation Group.   Katie explained to the 50+ attendees that the CMG is an affiliation of legal professionals, including solicitors in private practice and in-house counsel who act as advisers to clients in mediation.   She also explained that the Objectives of the CMG are to improve standards and to provide a voice for the users of commercial mediation.

Katie also reviewed the results of the survey that the CMG had carried out, which looked at topics such as the selection of mediators and the desirable characteristics of a mediator.   This was all well-received by the audience.

Michael Cover, Member of ArbDB, who introduced Katie Bradford at the event and who is one of the conveners of the Mediators’ New Breakfast Club commented: ‘ We were delighted to welcome Katie Bradford from Linklaters and the CMG and her presentation will be of great assistance as mediators and users seek further to develop commercial mediation in this jurisdiction.   We look forward to the next meeting on Tuesday 10 July, where our guest will be Karl Mackie, the Chief Executive of CEDR.’
