Clerk to Chambers - Martin Poulter
Martin commenced his career in the law as a Barristers' Clerk in 1977 in Lincoln’s Inn.
He then worked as First Junior Clerk at 4 Essex Court (now Essex Court Chambers), became Senior Clerk in Lincoln’s Inn and then moved to a barristers’ chambers in Bedford Row as a Chambers Director and Senior Clerk, until 2002.
Martin established Chambers People in Autumn 2002 – a specialist business consultancy providing staff, training, business development, clerking and other support services for barristers’ and law firms, throughout England and Wales.
Martin remains the Director of Chambers People Ltd, but was appointed the Clerk to the Arbitration, Mediation and Dispute Board Chambers, in the summer of 2013.
Martin is married, has two married sons, two granddaughters and a grandson and when not working, runs, tries to play golf, and regularly visits a well-known London football team at Stamford Bridge.
