About us

ArbDB has been set up by John Wright, Tony Marks and Michael Cover, who are all experienced third party neutrals, and who form the Management Committee of ArbDB. The vision is to establish an international set of Chambers with Members from different professional disciplines and jurisdictions and this is well on the way to being realized. The Chambers now has members who are leading arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators – both domestic and international – as listed in the Members section.

Martin commenced his career in the law as a Barristers' Clerk in 1977, at the Chambers of Ian Edwards-Jones QC, 7 Stone Buildings, Lincoln’s Inn.

He then worked as First Junior Clerk at 4 Essex Court (now Essex Court Chambers), became Senior Clerk at 9 Old Square (Lord Hoffman’s Chambers) and then moved to chambers in Bedford Row as a Chambers Director and Senior Clerk, until 2002.

Martin established Chambers People in Autumn 2002 – a specialist business consultancy providing staff, training, business development, clerking and other support services for barristers’ and law firms, throughout England and Wales.

Martin remains the Director of Chambers People Ltd, but was appointed the Clerk to the Arbitration, Mediation and Dispute Board Chambers, summer 2013.

Martin is married, with two sons, a granddaughter, and when not working, runs, tries to play golf, and regularly visits a well-known London football team at Stamford Bridge.
